Most golf deals in late September come with a catch. Maybe the weather is getting colder, daylight is disappearing fast, or the "fall special" mostly means you get to wear a stocking cap on the back nine.

Milwaukee County Parks just dropped one that actually works in your favor.

Starting September 28, 2026, anyone who buys a 2027 Players Discount Card gets the rest of the 2026 season included at no extra charge. You pay for next year and you start saving right away.

It's the golf version of the bartender telling you the next one is on the house because it's close enough to last call.

The Pricing Is Almost Embarrassingly Cheap

  • 1-Year Card: $25

  • 2-Year Card: $40

  • 3-Year Card: $55

Any Wisconsin resident can buy one, and everybody pays the same price. You don't need a Milwaukee County address.

If you live in Kenosha, Waukesha, Green Bay or anywhere else in the state and play the county courses even a handful of times a year, the card can pay for itself quicker than you can say "breakfast ball."

The Three-Year Card Is the Smart Play

Do the math on the $55 card.

Buy it now and you are covered for the rest of 2026 plus all of 2027, 2028 and 2029. That works out to well under $20 per season.

I have spent more than that on a sleeve of balls that ended up in the pond on Brown Deer's 18th.

What the Card Gets You

The headline number is savings of up to 50 percent on green fees at 10 Milwaukee County golf courses. Seniors age 60 and older, juniors under 18, and golfers with disabilities receive even deeper discounts.

Then there is the rewards program, which is where things get interesting.

You earn:

  • 1 point for every $1 spent on green fees

  • 1 point for every $1 spent on cart rentals

  • ½ point for every $1 spent on golf shop merchandise

Those points can then be redeemed for free golf.

  • Brown Deer: 455 points for 9 holes; 775 for 18

  • Oakwood, Whitnall and Dretzka: 320 for 9; 520 for 18

  • Currie, Grant, Greenfield and Lincoln: 290 for 9; 465 for 18

  • Hansen and Warnimont: 125 for 9; 175 for 18

Points can be used anytime on weekdays and after 1 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

Milwaukee County residents also get a sign-up bonus:

  • 1-year card: 100 points

  • 2-year card: 200 points

  • 3-year card: 300 points

Brown Deer Alone Justifies the Purchase

Let's be honest about why a lot of golfers will buy this card.

Brown Deer Park is a legitimate piece of Wisconsin golf history.

The course hosted the PGA Tour's Greater Milwaukee Open, later known as the U.S. Bank Championship, and it is where a 20-year-old Tiger Woods made his professional debut in 1996.

You can stand on the same tee boxes and hit it roughly the same place Tiger did, give or take 60 yards and a little bit of self-respect.

Add courses like Dretzka, Oakwood and Whitnall, and you have a strong rotation for a Milwaukee golf buddy weekend that won't require a second mortgage.

Play 36, hit a brewery tour, head to the casino, and you may still have enough left over to cover the Uber.

The Fine Print Worth Knowing

A few things to keep in mind before you hand over your $25:

  • Cards run by calendar year, not by purchase date. That's exactly why this fall promotion is such a good deal.

  • Rewards points do not roll over. Anything you earn this fall expires December 31, 2026, so use those points before the season ends.

  • You must present your card every time you play to receive the discount and earn points.

  • Points can only be redeemed by the golfer who earned them. No gifting them to your buddy who keeps "forgetting" his wallet.

  • League-play points require contacting the Golf Office.

  • Private group outings do not earn rewards points.
